Data show that in 2022, China's new energy vehicle production and sales achieved 7.058 million and 6.887 million units, an increase of 96.7% and 93.4%, respectively, and China's new energy vehicle production and sales ranked first in the world for eight consecutive years.

"If we stretch the time dimension, since 2012, when China introduced and implemented the "energy-saving and new energy vehicle industry development plan", the average annual compound growth rate of new energy vehicle sales reached 87%, and the cumulative promotion of new energy vehicles reached 15.96 million units. China has become an important guiding force in the transformation of the global automotive industry electrification." Xin Guobin said.

Xin Guobin said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the early stages of the organization carried out research and a number of symposiums to listen extensively to the views of industry enterprises, research institutions, industry organizations. From the feedback from all sides of the situation, industry enterprises on the development of industry this year, confidence is very full. At the same time, the concept of green development is deeply rooted, and consumer satisfaction with new energy vehicles continues to improve. "A combination of these factors and production and sales in January and February, our comprehensive research and judgment, this year, the new energy vehicle industry will maintain a good development trend, production and sales will achieve stable growth." Xin Guobin said.

It is reported that, in order to maintain the positive trend, the Ministry of Industry will focus on promoting five aspects of work.

First, strengthen the coordination. Further improve the coordination and promotion mechanism for the development of new energy vehicle industry, coordinate the overall work of electrification, networking and intelligent development. Around the technology research, promotion and application, infrastructure construction and other sustained efforts to continue to cultivate a high level of innovation, comprehensive capacity, with international competitiveness of independent brands.

Second, support innovation breakthroughs. Will focus on supporting leading enterprises to play a leading role in accelerating the new system battery, automotive chips, automotive operating systems and other technology research and industrialization applications. Start the pilot of intelligent networked vehicle access and road access, accelerate the technology application of 5G vehicle-road cooperation, and promote the synergistic development of electrification and intelligent networked.

Third, further increase the efforts to promote the application. Carry out a comprehensive electric pilot area of public sector vehicles, in conjunction with the relevant departments to study as soon as possible to clarify the succession of new energy vehicle purchase tax exemptions and other policies, revise and release the "double points" management approach to stabilize market expectations.

Fourth, to enhance the service security capacity. To accelerate the development of domestic resources, stabilize the supply of international cooperation, and do a good job of key raw materials to ensure supply and price stability. To improve the recycling system, strengthen intelligent dismantling and other key technology research and development, and improve the level of power battery recycling.

Fifth, to promote open development. Will continue to implement open measures in the field of automotive, play the role of multi-bilateral cooperation mechanisms, support enterprises, research institutions, industry organizations in trade and investment, technology research and development, standards development and other areas of exchange and cooperation to achieve win-win development.
